What is the BMSAT?
From 2025-entry onwards, applicants to the University of Oxford for Biomedical Sciences will not sit the BMAT examination any more, instead sitting the BMSAT. The BMSAT is a very similar exam to the old BMAT.
This includes 80 multiple-choice items to answer in a duration of 90 minutes, including:
20 biology questions
20 chemistry questions
20 mathematics questions
20 physics questions
The official specification given for the BMSAT relates to the national curriculum for GCSE by the UK Department for Education. That can be seen here for single science and here for maths.
What resources can I use to prepare for the BMSAT?
Besides using the specification above, the BMAT specification will relate very closely to the content that must be recapped for the BMSAT exam - I recommend looking at this carefully (see below)!
The old BMAT past papers will also be very useful.
